But not too fast. Some of these guys are still cops.

Tom Daldin Host of Under the Radar Michigan

We knew them as a competent and community-minded police department, but everyone was shocked when members of the Clare Police Department bought and saved the Clare City Bakery. The irony was obvious and they played that with humor and learn-as-you-go business acumen. Clare has grown and prospered from their success and involvement. Plus we got darn fine donuts.

Rick Mills Editor of the Morning Sun

When I was a boy, I often walked down to the Clare City Bakery to score a glazed doughnut or a cream-filled long john. Years later, I heard the bakery was closing, joining so many other storefronts. But wait! Nine local policemen stepped up to turn the business around and revive the town itself. Grab a cup of coffee and a doughnut and prepare for a fun and inspiring read.
